Big and small businesses alike must schedule posts on social media accounts across Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram to create an online presence and drive traffic.
Moreover, creating meaningful posts and scheduling pins and boards on the said media platforms is the top priority of any blogger or affiliate marketer. Since social media is the primary source of traffic today, many bloggers and business owners spend the better half of their days creating an effective social media marketing strategy.
But individually creating posts (content + images), adding hashtags, and posting them at precise timings can be really tedious. This is where the Tailwind app comes to help. Tailwind is a free marketing tool that helps you schedule posts and pins on various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. It already sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
Let’s look at the Tailwind app in more detail!
What is the Tailwind App?
The Tailwind App is a social media marketing tool that does the work of two apps in one – besides scheduling pins and posts, it also helps with graphic design. So, you won’t require hiring a social media manager if you have this app!
This app is a smart way to schedule pins (or posts) and use its hashtag suggestions and other analytics to drive traffic to your website or small business. And since the entire process of creating content for its user is completely automated, you’ll get much faster results.
Tailwind is famously used by well-known brands and personalities, such as Shopify, Jenny Yoo, etc. Here are the key features of the Tailwind App:
- Publish content, images, and affiliate links to Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram
- Save content for your social media account
- Create content for all platforms with one post
- Instagram marketing features: publish stories, carousel, and regular posts
- Pinterest marketing: schedule pins, create boards, and reach out to Pinterest members
- Link-in-bio tool
- Graphic designing tool
- Save and suggest hashtags
- Community feature for Pinterest marketing
- Extensions: Firefox, Chrome, Safari
- Mobile Apps: iOS, Android
Factors To Consider Before Opting For A Social Media Marketing Tool
Chances are you’re already spending a fortune upgrading your website and expanding your company or brand. So, you won’t want to unnecessarily spend on marketing tools that won’t benefit you. Look for these features when choosing one:
1. Free trial
Before investing your money in a marketing tool, it’s important to experience its service firsthand. Remember to pay close attention to their customer support and check if it has a user-friendly interface where you can schedule content on the go. Signing up for a free trial is the best way to review an app.
2. Safety
The next factor you need to consider is whether it’s safe to use. You don’t want your social media accounts to get hacked, so checking its ingenuity and safety protocols is a must.
Tailwind is an official partner of Facebook and Pinterest, so your accounts on any related platforms should be safe.
Tailwind App Review
Now that we have a rough idea of how the Tailwind App works let’s look at some of its key features and review their efficacy. In broad terms, Tailwind offers the following tools:
- Schedule
- Tailwind Communities
- Create
- Email Marketing
- Smart. bio
1. Schedule
Most people use Tailwind for scheduling posts for social media, especially Pinterest and Instagram. To do this, simply login to your tailwind account and click ‘Upload Media’ from the Home tab dashboard. Then select your primary social media account where you’ll like to post content.
And besides scheduling your posts, Tailwind will crop your images to the preferred dimensions of the social media platform and suggest hashtags. These hashtags are color-coded based on how competitive they are, and you also see the number of posts among each one if you hover over them. You can also check your Instagram grid with the help of the Schedule User Interface (UI).
Moreover, there are two methods of scheduling posts via Tailwind:
i. Auto Post (requires a business account): lets you schedule posts at a specific date and time.
ii. Post Reminder: Sends you a notification when you want the content to go live – then publish it manually.
You can also use Tailwind’s browser extension to publish web pages and blog content.
2. Tailwind Communities
This is a unique feature that’s beneficial for Pinterest marketing. Formerly known as Tailwind Tribes, it is a community hub where you can share pins with other Tailwind users. Every topic or niche has hundreds of relevant communities, and you can even create your own!
Moreover, Tailwind offers a checklist and a completeness scoreboard to help you get started with Tailwind communities. But even though this concept of a community of Pinterest members to share boards and images sounds like a good idea, it is difficult to set up and requires assistance.
3. Create
This is Tailwind’s graphic design tool, and it has the following sections:
a) Design Gallery
You can create different designs for your page or website using these features. Here are some of the design options available on Tailwind:
- Photo Count: The number of photos you want to add to a particular design or page
- Post Type: The kind of post you want to share the content in – Instagram feed posts, stories, Pinterest pins, Facebook posts, etc.
- Category: Choose a primary category for your content – promotion, industry, Tailwind, style, design trends, etc.
b) Favorites
It allows you to store your favorite templates and designs. However, you can’t save your custom-made designs.
c) Brand Settings
To make the design process quicker, you can add your brand’s information in the brand settings section. Fonts, brand names, color palettes, and preferred logos are required.
d) Projects
You can save and work on images you’ve previously created designs with.
4. Smart.bio
Tailwind has its own link-in-bio tool that’s optimized for Instagram, and you can either add buttons or Instagram posts to the link. The button will appear on the top of the Smart.bio page, where you can put your most important posts or promoted links. All you need to do is fill out the two information sections – add the name you want the button to show and its URL destination.
Activating the Smart.bio page will give you a UI element that you’ll find while scheduling posts to Instagram. However, you can only customize three elements on Smart. bio. They are:
- Button color
- Page title
- Text on the post link button
5. Email Marketing
Their email marketing feature is not the best in the industry, and they allow you to have only 20 followers, regardless of your Tailwind price tier. It also lacks monitoring features and social media inboxes, so Tailwind’s theme should work on its monitoring and email marketing features more.
Here are the main sections available in this feature:
- Drag and drop email creator
- Over 100 templates
- Customized subscription box
- Marketing automation
Tailwind App: Pricing
Besides its free trial, the Tailwind App has a forever free plan that gives you access to the following:
- One account per social media platform
- 20 published posts per month
- Allows you to create 20 designs per month
- Can join up to five Tailwind communities
But there are three other premium plans (starting at $19.99/ month), and they offer:
- Unlimited posts per month
- Up to three accounts per platform
- Unlimited post designs per month
- Unlimited number of Tailwind communities
- Up to five users per account
Tailwind App Review: Pros And Cons

Final Thoughts
While social media marketing is not a unique idea for an application or software, Tailwind is a more affordable and comprehensive option, among others. And is specifically useful for Pinterest marketing, which is quite underrated.
The Tailwind Communities, earlier known as the Tailwind Tribes, is the highlight of this app since it effectively connects Pinterest members and helps you gain exposure. Moreover, Tailwind offers various price plans for different audience sizes, so you’re guaranteed to find the right price for your business.
However, we recommend opting for a different platform if you want to focus on graphic designing and email marketing since Tailwind is subpar in these aspects. A dedicated app like Canvas would be better for your graphics, and you should manage email marketing separately.
That being said, we’ll be signing off for now. See you next time!
